We met in early August 1985 as nervous teenagers, excited to start our long journey in medicine. Over the ensuing 5+ years, we bonded over laughter, cups of chai, shared lunches, college gossip, grooving to the 80’s music and a few smatterings of medical wisdom. Spending countless hours both in and probably more out of LTMMC laid the foundation of an enduring friendship which continued over the next 30 years. You went on to achieve remarkable success as an academic oncologist and left your indelible mark on the landscape of medical oncology benefitting innumerable patients in the process. To us however you will always be a fun loving friend who was beautiful, smart, caring and happened to excel academically. The last 30 years has seen us all scatter all over the globe but our bond of friendship was always the magnet which made the distance seem imperceptible.
We are deeply saddened by our loss and will miss you beyond words but your memories will always bring a smile to our faces. The world is a better place for having had you dear friend.
You will always be one of the 9 teens of the 80’s
