Our friendship goes back to when Gauri entered medical college at 18 years of age and the icing on the cake was when she got married to Atul , one of my closest friends . This has been a 34 year friendship that we have maintained despite moving cities , countries , having our kids , our careers , the ups and downs of life .It is difficult for me to put in a few words the impact that Gauri has had on my family . From the long conversations on how to raise our kids , to how to progress in our careers to the environment to politics to what the next big thing will be; her keen mind , sharp intellect and logic along with her empathy , compassion and understanding of people and their circumstances, always shone through .
My children always paid close attention to her opinions and advise and we frequently used her as an example on how one should live life.
Gauri , I know you are looking down on my family and telling me to look upward and forward and become the best version of what we can be . Thank you for your friendship to Deb and me and your mentor ship to my children ( specially Madhulika ). I will always hold our memories close to my heart ♥️
